Simple explanation without complications, people with poor English language can even understand nice instructor.
While I agree with what you are trying to show your students re the principle of the aim point, I don't think drawing random dots, or as I have seen movable clear plastic dots, on the windshield is good technique and I feel it becomes a bit of a crutch. Over the years I have given this some thought and believe that a good explanation would revolve around eye height and where it intersects the windscreen and how that relates to aim point. I liken it to the a rear sight and foresight on a rifle. Most GA aircraft have fixed height seating which means you have to cater for the 5 foot pilot as well as the 6 foot 6 inch pilot. Where is the aim point now? At the end of the day it's about the pictures - aim point, aspect, airspeed - driving your eyes down to the runway threshold in good position to land. It's also good that pilots understand the pictures especially when it comes to flapless and AoA approaches where aircraft attitude becomes the imperative and where you touch down becomes more of a judgement exercise. Please don't view this as a criticism or a point of contention it's just a discussion point as I'm sure you're a great and thoughtful instructor. Cheers
You need to explain where the black gasket goes
I was in warehousing for 30 years and saw many big rigs attempting to back up to the buildings dockplates. The Swift drivers were generally the WORST at backing up. Hopefully they are doing a better job training drivers.
Edited for setup was off
It didn't look like the tandems were all the way back and that makes a big difference
Dan, thanks for this, and volunteering your time with the Aviation Explorers program. I was involved as a student pilot through two different aviation-centered Boy Scouts/ Explorer Posts here in the Cleveland area back in the mid 1970s. Our Explorer Posts 'owned' our Cessna 150s - the planes bought and maintained through member student's fund raising efforts. Flight hours were 'earned' by fundraising efforts as well! The more you raised, the more you flew! One of the Posts was sponsored by a major airline, and we held our meetings in the airline's maintenance hangar - we also overhauled one of our Cessna's O-200 engines, supervised and signed off through one of the airline's A&Ps. The other Explorer post was initially sponsored by another major airline, and meetings were held in the airline's pilot briefing room in the main terminal! Later, that post was sponsored by a air-cargo outfit across the field from the main terminal that flew Beech 18s, and our lowly C-150 was parked in the grass among those Twin Beeches... Ahh, those were the days.... I soloed at 6.5hrs off the now long-gone Northwest Sod (one of two grass runways at CLE) on Dec 7, 1975. That area in now the UPS air freight facility. On days when the Sod was closed due to wet or snow, we used the shorter of the two main parallel runways, while the airliners used the longer one a few hundred feet away "Be alert for wake turbulence" was a constant radio message from the tower! Things were different back then, LOL!!! Anyway, I am happy to hear that Aviation Exploring is still a 'thing!' Keep up the good work! Keep inspiring today's youth!
Looks like very quite for his first flight
I have pic time Day Flying , pilot in command under supervision Day flying, Dual day flying, pic time Night flying, Dual night flying, Co-pilot day and night flying time and Instrument flying time. My total flying time will be the addition of which groups of flying times? Thank you.

Amazing video. Thanks for share !!! What about the AD 2020-26-16 ? Is this model involved ?
The more I watch these videos I learn a lot
Get to the point . Skip to more than half way. Better yet skip the whole thing. Basically worthless .

The instructor here reminds of a military instructor: sharply dressed, professional in demeanor, and dedicated to his chosen line of work.
Swift Academy is like an Ivy League University, well known for thorough and rigorous training. It’s great to be a driver for Swift, Love it !!
Your cheat sheet is awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Swift needs to teach their drivers to drive first . Can’t wait to see future Swift videos , chains sailing through the air ! Delivering a Better Life to wreckers !
Thank you so much, great video.
Instructors should teach about driving forward , that when the wrecks begin !
Everybody put trailer in with this huge space, but in real life very often you will not have so much space
hello Dan, did you change your water filter?
I'm a new box driver... Wanted to thank u n the camera man.... Ur voice is relax n u know exactly what u are talking about... thanks a bunch... Can u do any video or advice to my field...box truck? Thanks
Aiming pt don't work 3 miles out on a straight vin landing
If it's a visual approach and stabilized on a constant glide path it will
I'm from Kampala uganda I learnt more experience from your tutorial services keep it up sir.
Good video. Perhaps the intro could be shorter since it seemed like it was going to be a read type of video and I and possibly others almost clicked on to the next video.
this is the best technique ever guys I really advice you follow this one it lines you up straight to your parking spot.
Thank you for the video it help me back without my leader assist me thank you.
I am assuming the same principles would apply regarding a Ford F350 pulling a 26 foot trailer backing driver side into a perpendicular driveway? Pretty much what is shown in this video. Going to give it a whirl, thank you very much!
Not sure if this translates well and a comment on UA-cam, but one trick that always worked for me for trailers was this. Grab the bottom of the wheel and spin it the direction you want the trailer to go. If trailer needs to go to the left, move your hand to the left This is because the trailer moves in the opposite direction to the vehicle when you turn the steering wheel while reversing.
Excellent, thank you. I live right at the opening of a large neighborhood and the pressure and anxiety to back this trailer up and cause a traffic jam is really a nightmare haha. I’ve Probably backed up 30 to 40 times with trial and error but I really need to come at this with a more strategic approach and consistency. Thank you for your quick reply. There is a large vacant parking lot that I’m going to practice on and see if I can get The concepts in your video really dialed in. Thank you.
@@Ram-vt3rm totally get it! We've all jackedknifed a trailer at some point in the early days. Let me know how it goes
Watched your video again and knocked it out of the park! I put my hat down for the “eye on the ball” and I set up how to described in the video. It was perfect, only problem I had was swinging my truck back around during the “hard left” to follow my trailer as I backed in. I had to pull forward twice to re adjust but I am sure it’ll get better with practice. Again, thanks for the video because it’s by far the best I’ve found.
I pray that I pass my cdl 90 degree and road test
Caballero muy buen video , pero si nos pudiera ayudar hacer un vídeo en español le agradeceríamos toda la vida un abrazo desde Ecuador
Amazing ideas. Thank you so much!
This video was right on point. I had difficulty docking as a new Amazon Freight driver, but I've been getting it every time.

Lmao u will almost never have enough room for tht..he always had his clock set up weird. I say 3 oclock then 12 oclock but i get wat he meant. Also if u do have enough room this works..without the damn glove too😂
I spent almost 3 weeks for parking but I couldn’t do it correctly , after watching this I learned techniques I hope this works
Nobody is impressed. We did that in 8th grade gym class.
This is helpful for me as master trucker in ETS2
Who are these guys???
Drop your glove…..smh
Porque no Grabo cuando corrigio el error que cometio
To get out and check it might cost 3 dollars in time better than not checking and hit something and costing 3 thousand
Sorry swift, but your reputation proceeds you. A swift driver teaching others to back up is what keeps the pilot parking lot a treasure trove of UA-cam material. I've been at it for 27 years and yall still don't disappoint. 👏👏👏😂
